Mental Health Support Workers Required – we are currently recruiting for relief staff.
Shropshire Mental Health Support has some exciting opportunities for highly experienced individuals to work in our multi award winning Shropshire Sanctuary out of hours service. Based in our Shrewsbury in Observer House, the Shropshire Sanctuary offers the chance to become part of supportive team who strive to consistently deliver the highest standard of person-centred support and services.
Duties will include: Providing a safe, calm, welcoming and reassuring environment that is responsive to support individuals to relieve mental distress, anxiety and associated issues. The need to enable a constructive outcome for people who are seeking alternative support to that currently being offered, is key to the work we do in the Shropshire Sanctuary. In conjunction with the Police and other mental health providers, we are very proud that the Shropshire Sanctuary is a huge success in the provision of out of hours support offered to the people of Shropshire.
Shropshire MHS was established in 1975 and provides a diverse range of quality services across the County for the one in four of us acknowledged to be affected by mental or emotional distress.
If you have experience of working and supporting people within the mental health sector, if you have an insight into service provision and are passionate and dedicated to supporting people with a truly person-centred approach, then we would like to hear from you.
An interest in counselling, a counselling qualification or working towards a qualification will be of great benefit.
We are looking to recruit night support workers. Also, relief support workers to provide cover which will include late shift duties and/or night shift duties.
Training and ongoing support is essential and will be provided.
Rate of pay: £9.50 – £10.70 per hour.
