Shropshire Wellbeing and Resilience Support (SWaRS) is our specialist paid-for service provided by Shropshire MHS, offering accessible, compassionate support to individuals, groups, and organisations across Shropshire.

Led by Sara, an experienced practitioner with over 10-years of expertise in mental health and wellbeing support, SWaRS provides a personalised, trauma-informed approach to helping people navigate the impact of traumatic events, ongoing stress, and burnout. With a strong background in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges and trauma, Sara combines professional knowledge with genuine compassion to create a safe, supportive, and confidential space for every person she works with.

Trained in the internationally recognised Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) model, Sara tailors support to the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. Whether working one-to-one, facilitating group sessions, or supporting workplaces following a challenging event, her focus is always on understanding what matters most to you and helping you move forward with confidence and resilience.

SWaRS is not a counselling service. Instead, it offers targeted early intervention and practical support following a specific traumatic experience or period of sustained stress. Through active listening, evidence-informed strategies, practical guidance, and self-help resources, the service helps people make sense of their experiences and identify positive ways forward.

Research consistently shows that early support and the opportunity to talk through difficult experiences with a trusted, independent professional can make a significant difference to improved wellbeing. Traumatic events affect everyone differently, and the reactions people experience are often normal responses to abnormal circumstances.
