Wellbeing Vehicle

Shropshire Mental Health Support is committed to making mental health support accessible to everyone within our rural communities across Shropshire.
We recognise that people experiencing mental health challenges, particularly in rural areas, may face increased barriers such as isolation, loneliness, stigma, and limited access to support. Our friendly and professional wellbeing vehicle staff and volunteers provide direct support to individuals in the community and offer resources to promote self-care, build support networks and offer guidance for mental health wellbeing and suicide prevention.
As of June 2026, our wellbeing vehicle regularly visits 16 locations across Shropshire, including GP surgeries, supermarkets, businesses, community hubs, community centres, care homes and local markets. It also offers its services to attend festivals, and wellbeing events, making support visible, accessible, and welcoming to all.
Paul, our Wellbeing Vehicle Support Worker, commented on his role:
I absolutely love my role on the Wellbeing Vehicle, every day throws up its own challenges. It is such a privilege that people feel that they can open up to us with their own personal struggles. When you see someone’s mood lift from when they first step through the door it makes the job so worthwhile.
