At Shropshire MHS-SASH, we’re dedicated to supporting individuals who are living with or recovering from mental health challenges. We offer safe, high-quality supported accommodation that promotes independence, respects personal choice, and encourages every resident to progress at their own pace.

We currently accept referrals for adults aged 18 and over who are in recovery or living with an enduring mental health condition.

Our Accommodation

We provide supported housing in Shrewsbury and Craven Arms, offering residents a secure and comfortable environment where they can rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

What We Offer:

  • Private, fully furnished bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms

  • Shared living room, kitchen, laundry facilities, and garden

  • Walking distance to local shops, town centres, and transport links

Residents can stay until they’re ready to move on to more independent living—this could be several months or up to five years. Our homes are intended to be temporary, transitional spaces that support long-term recovery.

We work closely with external agencies to ensure each individual receives tailored, holistic support throughout their stay.

Our Supportive Approach

Residents live independently with regular on-site support and access to 24-hour emergency assistance from qualified professionals.

While living with us, residents are encouraged to:

  • Explore new hobbies and leisure activities

  • Rebuild confidence and social connections

  • Return to work, education, or training

  • Join our wide range of peer support groups at Shropshire MHS

Our Homes

The front and side of the house are enclosed by gates and a small walled area with the ground laid to gravel.
The back garden is approached via the side of the property through two large wooden gates, this area has a gravelled driveway to accommodate two- three vehicles, it has a good sized lawn and a nicely paved patio.
The house is conveniently situated, close to all shops, transport services and amenities.
The house is fully furnished and maintained to a high standard.

Oldfield Villa is comfortably situated in the centre of the Old Market town of Craven Arms. The house was fully refurbished to a very high standard in 2007, and currently comprises of six bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, a modern fitted kitchen with combined dining area, a good sized lounge, separate laundry and downstairs bathroom with WC.

The property on Hotspur Street is a four-bedroom, semi-detached house, located in a very popular and quiet area of Shrewsbury. It is a 10-minute walk from Shrewsbury town centre, close to all shops, services and amenities.

Health & Safety

Safety is a top priority in all our homes. We ensure that:

  • Fire alarms are tested regularly and Fire Risk Assessments are in place

  • Fire drills are conducted with residents

  • All electrical appliances are tested annually

  • Gas boilers and heating systems are serviced every year

  • All properties have been surveyed for asbestos, with records kept on-site

  • We have trusted contractors for timely repairs based on urgency

About Us

Shropshire Association for Supported Housing (SASH) was founded in 1972 to address the lack of support for people transitioning to independent living after experiencing mental health issues.

Originally operating just three properties, SASH expanded significantly over the years, supporting up to 42 individuals by the mid-1980s.

In June 2025, following years of dedicated service, the SASH Board of Directors entrusted the continuation of their legacy to Shropshire MHS. This partnership ensures that supported housing remains available to those who need it most in our community.

Today, Shropshire MHS-SASH provides supported accommodation in both Shrewsbury and Craven Arms, with all residents able to access the wide range of mental health services offered by Shropshire MHS at their Abbey Foregate offices.
